More famously known as the Stag Party, bachelor parties conjure up images of a night filled with debauchery and undiluted pleasure, complete with strippers, booze, et al. While you may dream of throwing the most decadent of all bachelor parties, it may be a good idea to get your bride's permission before going full steam ahead. If she has strong reservations against it, you may find yourself throwing many more bachelor parties as she goes ahead and cancels all wedding plans. It's certainly not worth rocking the proverbial premarital boat for one night out on the town. However, if she's okay with the idea, gather the boys and get ready to throw the wildest party of your single life.
Did you know that all bachelor parties do not involve strippers and booze? Here are a few bachelor party ideas that can help you brainstorm other ways of celebrating the end of your bachelorhood and your upcoming wedding.
First of all, a few things to consider:
Scheduling your Bachelor Party - Though the original idea behind throwing a bachelor party was to enjoy the last night of being a bachelor; it is a bad idea to schedule your bachelor party the night before your wedding. You don't want to turn up drunk
and disheveled or just plain tired and sleepy on your wedding day. Scheduling your bachelor party the weekend before your wedding may be a better idea instead.
Planning the Theme of your Bachelor Party - Avoid planning or participating in any potentially dangerous activity such as kayaking or rappelling or any other kind of extreme sports. You will find, to your utter dismay, that it is impossible to wear a tuxedo when you have a cast on your arm or your leg.
A Sporty Bachelor's Party
What better way to bond with the boys than an evening of sports. Organize a big tournament late in the afternoon so that it can be followed by a huge thirst-quenching party. Get personalized Tee-shirts and hats that your guests will have to wear to the party and then can take home as mementos after the big event.
An Outdoors Bachelor Party
An outdoors bachelor party where the boys test each others endurance limits sure beats a stag party where everybody sits around testing the others drinking capacity! Picture it in your mind's eye- hanging out with your buddies in the woods, hiking, trekking, dirt biking, white-water rafting or fishing. To cap it all, everyone bonding over a midnight campfire while you regale each other with stories of yore. That sure is a night to remember!
