So, what are some great 40th birthday gifts for men? Whatever they are, they better be good. I mean, c'mon hey, your Mr. Wonderful just made it to the big 4-O and his expectations are going to be pretty good. A collection of Bob Marleys greatest his CD, just isn't going to cut it. But it could be a good start. Maybe better, would be the CD collection, plus a trip to the old reggae rockers home town of Kingston Jamaica would be a little more appropriate. Especially in the middle of winter. YEA MON! Now were talking.

But seriously, a big 40th birthday does mean something special to the big guy. Even if he won't admit it, and chances are he won't. You could of course just go along with that line, and give him the big surprise at the end. Surprise 40th birthday parties do seem to be all the rage for that age. Of course everyone expects one, and will make their family and closest friends swear on a stack of bibles and a six pack that they won't plan one. Most do, but why not try something a little different.

Trips are good. But even better, get him something he'll never do for himself. Something to make him feel young again. An adventurous kind of excursion. Something that will make
him forget he's 40. If he's a big fan of Nascar or any motor car racing, a weekend of lessons at a racing school would be exciting. What guy doesn't like cars? And guy doesn't just hate driving the speed limit? Who wouldn't love to tear 160 mph around some oval race track under the supervision of some big celebrity driver. It's pretty safe stuff, and after the weekend your little Mario Andretti will probably have learned enough to be a safer driver.

While that's just one example of an adventure fill 40th birthday gift, there are more. Surfing, white water rafting, scuba diving, hang gliding, parachuting, spelunking, or sailing to name a few. But, what if your guy is not Mr. Indiana Jones. We all can't be. Then maybe a trip somewhere is the best bet. Whats the one place he's always wanted to go, but never did? Maybe because of work, or family, or money. It doesn't have to be somewhere exotic like Egypt or Africa. In North America, were lucky to live on one of the biggest land masses on the planet. There all kinds of places you can go just by driving. The ocean (either one), the desert, mountains, glaciers, rivers, and farmlands. Not to mention some amazing big cities like New York, San Francisco, and Miami.

Take your pick, adventurous or mild, either way you can't go wrong.
